A 9 years
aged girl named Fathima Zeema in Manghanthuduwai, Kaththankudy had been raped
and killed by a neighbour named M Smail Ramlal on 10 Sep 2014. The girl had
been raped and assassinates and the dead body had been hided under the bed.
Kaththankudy police arrested the suspect from Pathiyathalawa. On 11 Sep 2014 the
relations of the slain girl gathered opposite the Batticaloa court and staged a
protest.
